Start-up Visa Portugal Application Process

You can find a list of certified incubators on the IAPMEI website or you can visit the website of the National Network of Incubators (RNI). The RNI provides a comprehensive list of accredited incubators in Portugal, along with information about their services and facilities.
3. Submit Online Application
Applying for the Startup Visa program in Portugal is a straightforward process that can be completed online through the Startup Visa portal, providing necessary documentation, including:
- Business plan.
- Proof of financial means.
- Criminal record certificate.
- Incubator agreement.
4. Application Review by IAPMEI
IAPMEI evaluates your application based on the degree of innovation, business scalability, market potential, management team skills, and potential for creating qualified employment in Portugal. If approved, you’ll receive a declaration of participation in the Start-Up Visa program, valid for six months.
5. Apply for Residency Visa

6. Convert Your Visa Into a Residency Permit
Upon arrival in Portugal, schedule an appointment with the Agency for Integration, Migrations, and Asylum (AIMA) to convert your start-up visa into a residency permit. Your first residency permit is valid for two years, renewable for three years. After five years of legal residence in Portugal, you may apply for permanent residency or citizenship
